Teacher’s and researcher’s perspectives on foreign language teaching: Interview with Dr Begoña Bellés-Fortuño
Abstract
Begoña Bellés-Fortuño is a senior lecturer in the Department of English Studies at Universitat Jaume I (UJI). She is currently the Director of the Interuniversity Institute of Modern Applied Languages (IULMA) at Universitat Jaume I. She has also occupied a head position in the Regional Ministry of Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society. She was a Morley Scholar in the English Language Institute (ELI) at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, USA) in 2007, where she worked together with the MICASE team. Her research interests are focused on Discourse Analysis, and more concretely, academic discourse both written and spoken, as well as on medical discourse and clinical setting communication encounters. She has co-edited the volume Teaching Language and Content in Multicultural and Multilingual Classrooms CLIL and EMI Approaches (Palgrave MacMillan, 2021). Recent publications include Multimodality in medicine: How university medical students approach informative leaflets (2018) or Popular Science Articles vs Scientific Articles: A Tool for Medical Education (2016).
