The «system» of memory in Amarcord by Federico Fellini
Abstract
The essay proposes a literary interpretation of Fellini's cinematography, based on the theme of memory. From the expressive generosity of the first films, Rimini (the director's hometown) gradually expands to become, in Amarcord, the ideal home of memory and creation. The article analyses Fellini's "poetics of memory", which is based on the repetition of a series of biographical themes such as family, woman and school, inserted in their respective geographical contexts. Keywords
