Resumo

“The pursuit of pleasurable work” é um volume etnográfico composto por dez capítulos (alguns republicados) em torno do que o autor chama de antropologia do artesanato. Em particular, é abordado o futuro e atual currículo de formação em carpintaria fina numa das escolas mais prestigiadas e antigas de Londres, a Building Crafts College. O livro cobre um vasto número de tópicos relacionados com a habilidade, o conhecimento tácito, a dualidade trabalho mecânico/trabalho manual, bem como as utopias e aspirações do trabalho profissional e artesanal.
