Abstract

This paper searchs to read the journey of the singular hero of  Ena Lucía Portela's La sombra del caminante (2001) through the importance of the metafictionality and intertextuality of the text. In order to do so, througout the paper we analize the relationships that La sombra del caminante establishes with other texts such as Albert Camus' The Stranger, Fiodor Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment, Franz Kafka's The Process, Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedyand Friedrich Nietszche's "The wanderer and his shadow".
