Francesc Pla, «El Vigatà», and the decoration of Fontcoberta's house in Vic
Abstract
During last quarter of the XVIII century there was an increase of the economic activity in Catalonia which provided a richness increase. The noblesse and bourgeois class started to build houses inside the city, according their new social status, and they required artists and artisans to decorate them. Frances Pla was one of the best considered artists to paint the worthiest spaces. This article means to acquaint the mural paintings made by the artist at Fontcoberta's house in Vic within the ensemble of his work.Keywords
