The convent and the church of the Barefoot Carmelites of Teruel (c. 1659-1670): a work by the architects José Felipe Busiñac y Borbón, Juan Teresa and José Seber
Abstract
We attribute the convent of the Barefoot (or Discalced) Carmelites of Teruel to José Felipe Busiñac y Borbón and Juan Teresa, thanks to various unpublished documents found in the provincial historical archive of Teruel. We analyse the documentation and construction of the building, which belongs to the final period of Classical Baroque architecture in Aragon; and we study the progress of the work, noting its chronology and the historical data available to date. Finally, we study the convent church, built by master builder José Seber.
