Abstract

The archaeological site “Forat de Conqueta” was discovered in 2004 and it is located in the municipality of Santa Linya (Noguera, Lleida). The purpose of this paper is presenting the results of these excavations from 2005 to 2007. These results confirmed the burial use of the cavity with the recovery of anthropological remains of over 40 individuals belonging to the Chalcolithic-Bronze Age period. Some materials were recovered related to funerary offerings in which the cremation of the dead seems to have had a central role. Later on, the cavity was used as a storage space at a Neolithic advanced time.
