Word formation in the classroom: observe, think and reflect

Abstract

In recent times, attention has begun to be paid to the lexical morphology of Spanish from perspectives that focus on a pedagogical and didactic approach directly oriented to the classroom. In all stages of teaching, the enhancement of morphological awareness and metalinguistic reflection must be key on which to base the learning process. Starting from a brief decalogue of quotations for theoretical reflection, the article proposes various types of activities that allow the student to focus on inductive reflection on how the processes of word formation in Spanish operate. The ultimate goal is for the student to be able to obtain conclusions and generalizations through activities formulated in a guided manner, and is even able to discover the limits of their own morphological learning in pre-university stages of their education. .
