Abstract

We are pleased to present you this year's first issue of Perifèria, Anthropology Research and Training Magazine. This new number has nine publications on anthropology with very diverse and interesting themes and takes up classic sections such as the interview or the ethnographic notes.
In the usual section of articles we publish four texts that, from different perspectives and fields, address topics of rigorous current affairs. All of them analyze consequences at various levels of the current crisis(s), the result of the global context. First, we present an article based on a multi-sited ethnographic research carried out in the Seoul Metropolitan Area between 2019 and 2020 (Romero-Moreno). Secondly, we delve into the field of the audiovisual to analyze how communication patterns have varied and modified social relationships and what role gender and loneliness play in this scenario (Pibernat-Vila). Next, from a phenomenological-hermeneutic approach, the third article analyzes the impact produced by the conditions of prison confinement on self-perceived psycho-emotional and social health (López-Segura). And finally, we close the section with a suggestive article on the links between nature and the city in a very specific ethnographic context: the urban trees of the city of Buenos Aires (Man). We return to the Ethnographic Notes section with the documented experience of BADA-ROC, an inter-citizen cooperation initiative (Vázquez-Atochero and Rabazo-Ortega). We continue with the Reprint and the Interview, which on this occasion constitute very special sections, having had the invaluable collaboration of Luis Díaz Viana. The reprint that we publish of this author constitutes a true treasure. Treasure that we link with the interview where we can delve into Díaz Viana's reflections on folklore, culture, ethnography and literature in the past and present (Cedeño-Pérez and Rodríguez-Olay). Finally, we recommend two magnificent works by the hand of two Reviews: “Post-truth and fiction. How distortion (un)explains the world” (Alcalde) and “Singular Feminine. Revisions of the contemporary Ibero-American literary canon” (Cedeño-Pérez and Piola-Simioli).
