Reflections on the beginnings of anthropology in Asturias. From native to anthropologist
Abstract
This autobiographical text brings us closer to the events that brought its author from Asturias to Barcelona to be part of one of the first cohorts of professional anthropologists in Spain. This is a text in three acts. The first and the second acts are inseparable, they tell us about the life processes and the academic encounters that have changed the course of anthropology in Spain. The third act is an epilogue to author's intellectual and lifelong relationship with Ramón Valdés, who took her along the paths of anthropological theory and cross-cultural comparison.
