Irony and the representation of Evil in La sombra del caminate by Ena Lucía Portela
Abstract
The writing of Ena Lucía Portela is supported on a complex rhetorical framework that has irony and similar rhetorical procedures as one of its main records. In La sombra del caminante (2001) the way the language is structured is inescapably linked to what is told: what is, or how, that can be said about the Evil; how to tell it without reducing it to a story, a testimony, once told implausible. To that extent, the role of rhetorical procedures that are based on irony result fundamental (and) for that reason become both method and subject of the representation. Keywords
