Communication in science: Bridge to an informed citizenry

Abstract

This work provides a reflection on the role that science communication plays in informing citizens. What to explain? And how to communicate it? These are the two key questions we ask ourselves to achieve efficient scientific communication. We understand that the communication process not only depends on the clarity and accessibility of information, but also on the ability to know the different audiences and the ability to understand and assimilate the scientific knowledge that is intended to be communicated. In this context, CAPIA (Science: Open, Participatory, Inclusive and Accessible) emerges as a fundamental paradigm, promoting transparency and collaboration, contributing significantly to the construction of an informed citizenry.
