Does a specific Emotionality in Documentary exist?
Abstract
This paper, complementary of previous article «Documentalidad y subjetividad: la imagenverídica (una aproximación al nuevo documental desde la estética analítica)», claims forthe hypothesis of a specific emotionality of documentary films through a reflection on thefilm My Architect (N. Kahn, 2003). Assuming the caracterization of documentary film asasertion, this text develops one of the main thesis of previous article (i.e., that emotiveinvolvement of the documentary film-maker implies a deeper understanding of documentaryfilm nature). Reflecting on a particular kind of documentary films (those commitedthemselves to a special emotive involvement of film-makers) allows us to find moreclearly a common feature of documentary films. Keywords
