Resum

La relació entre Dante Gabriel i Dante va molt més enllà de la dimensió de la traducció. Podem pensar-ho més aviat en termes d'apropiació estilística, de motius inspiradors i de reflex d'un paradigma biogràfic romànticament revisat. La Vita Nuova de Dante és revisada a la House of Life de Dante Gabriel, segons el camí ineluctable del que sembla un destí ja marcat. La relació de continuïtat entre el traductor i el poeta s'analitza mirant dos sonets (Gentil pensant en la Vita Nuova, i Life-in-love des de la House of Life), seguint el fil que d'una traducció porta, inesperadament, a la composició original.
