Francoism and anti-Francoism in the Third World through the Tricontinental Sphere

Authors

Abstract

The configuration of the Tricontinental sphere following the Tricontinental Conference in Havana constituted a milestone in international relations in the context of the Cold War. Franco's Spain was one of the countries presented to the Third World through this emerging movement of international solidarity. The Tricontinental spread multiple narratives in relation to Francoism, the Spanish Republic and the Spanish Civil War throughout the world from the late 1960s onwards. In this sense, the influence of this movement was also felt within Spain itself through numerous political movements during the second half of the 20th century.
