Teorizando a Imobilidade na Antropologia
Resumo
Este texto introduz um número especial que busca ampliar a teorização da imobilidade como categoria analítica relevante para o estudo dos fenômenos sociais. Propomos uma visão relacional, que aborda a mobilidade e a imobilidade como experiências que conferem significado mutuamente, e uma abordagem fenomenológica, focada em como as pessoas vivenciam e dão sentido à imobilidade no seu cotidiano. Apesar da atenção académica à mobilidade, a imobilidade tem sido definida principalmente pela negação. As quatro contribuições reunidas neste número dialogam com a necessidade de compreendê-lo como uma experiência socialmente construída e polissêmica, como uma qualidade de ser, e não como um estado físico. Utilizando materiais etnográficos e mostrando a heterogeneidade de experiências, os artigos nos convidam a examinar o papel do poder, o impacto das crises e a possibilidade de que a imobilidade seja um potencial, um estado que permite que as coisas aconteçam e sejam feitas.
