Review of “La guerra no tiene rostro de mujer”

Abstract
“La guerra no tiene rostro de mujer” is an approach to the Second World War from the Soviet women’s point of view. In the face of a mainstream narrative that prioritizes men’s experiences, Svetlana Alexievich interviews many of those forgotten protagonists of the war and presents us a different book. The result of such a meticulous journalistic, literary, and historiographic work is a set of plural voices that speak about daily issues such as hunger, fear of death and love, offering a view far removed from the traditional heroism.
