Abstract

In this occasion, the ProjecteEntrevistes has enjoyed to interview the anthropologist Danielle Provansal, a reference in anthropology of Maghreb for his ethnographic work in Algeria. PhD at University of Barcelona and Lyon III, she retired in 2006 after nearly 30 years of teaching at the UB. During the interview appear the different issues that Provansal has worked throughout his career: migration processes in globalized cities, the construction of identities, local development in rural areas or anthropologgy of food and of space. Always with a transversal gender perspective. The conversation reveals her view about anthropology, the differences in the discipline between France and Spain, and her interpretation of the current situation in Algeria. It also explains the operation of the research group ERAPI, of which she was co-founder and coordinator jointly with Dolores Juliano.
