The Frontier seen from the Fracture of the Subject: Temporality and Myth in "Iris" (2014), by Edmundo Paz Soldán
Abstract
The study of myth has, within the framework offered by science fiction, a role of great importance in order to understand the narratives with which a given community seeks to re-construct and represent its role in the world. Through the study of the novel Iris (2014), by the Bolivian writer Edmundo Paz Soldán, we will try to highlight the role of temporality in the interrelations between narrative and myth that are constructed throughout the novel, as the backbone of a timeless present capable of imposing itself on the individual.
