Linguistic Chaos, Resistance, and Translation: Mauro Alwa’s Poetry in the Context of Contemporary Bolivian Literature
Abstract
This article tries to look into the links between linguistic strains of the so called “minority” and “major” languages, or colonial languages, in the case of this research.
Firstly, this investigation aims to delve into the effects of hegemony and, after that, to observe the disassembling proposed by the use of Aymara language compared to Spanish, the main language of Bolivia. In that respect, we will analyse the process of translation carried by the poet Mauro Alwa, who writes in Aymara and publishes his own bilingual editions.
