Republican peace
Abstract
In 1795 Immanuel Kant issued an opuscle aimed at a general audience: Pax perpetua. It was a philosophical essay in wich he advanced some proposals on the institution of an intcrnational order valid enough tu eliminate the most irrational of evils: war. This article deals with some references about the historical and philosophical antecedents of that work in the XVII century, and it exposes its general structure together with its main arguments, attempting finally an essay of evaluation of a set of Kantian suggestions.Published
