"Are we rational after all?" Analysis of the theme of Behavioral Economics in post-graduation programs through sociometry

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze how the academic research on behavioral economics is. The data were collected at the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations that gathers post-graduation studies in the country. The method used was bibliographic research and analysis of social networks. Through the research, a total of 41 works were achieved in the areas of Administration, Economic Sciences, Law, Psychology, Sociology and others. The thesis and dissertations on the subject are concentrated in the University of São Paulo, University of Brasília and Fundação Getúlio Vargas. The greatest number of papers was defended in the year 2017. Among the authors most cited, Richard Thaler is considered the author in common among all areas, being more used in the Administration. Of the thirteen papers in the area of Economic Sciences, nine deal with decision making, one of the main objects of Behavioral Economics.
