Heron José de Santana Gordilho, Universidade Federal da Bahia

Heron Gordilho is a scholar of both animal and environmental law animal law, having published a number of books and articles on both subjects. He earned an PHD by the Federal University of Pernambuco and a post doc by Pace Law School. He is an environmental public prosecutor in Brazil and Coordinator of the Master & PhD Program at Bahia State Federal Law University. He is Visiting Professor at Pace University Law School, Fordham University School of Law,  (New York-EUA), Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona (Barcelona-Espanha) e Faculté François Rebelais (Tours-França). Founder and first president of Abolitionist Institute for Animals. Founder and editor of the Brazilian Animal Law Journal. Founder and president of the Animal Law Latinamerican Association (ALDA). World Academy of Art & Science (WAAS) fellow. Additionally, he created the Habeas Corpus in behalf of chimpanzee theory
