Casandro y Épiro

Resumen

Este artículo examina la forma y la eficacia de la política de Casandro hacia y en Épiro tras su llegada al poder en Macedonia. Considera la difícil historia familiar entre los antipátridas y los aiaquíes que Casandro heredó, y cómo esto y otras consideraciones estratégicas más amplias dieron forma a su enfoque para asegurar las fronteras occidentales de Macedonia. Examina las escasas pruebas de la naturaleza de la administración macedonia en Épiro durante el periodo de control directo entre 317 y 312, y cómo cambió en los años posteriores. Por último, considera las implicaciones más amplias para el reinado de Casandro y la historia de Épiro de las políticas y acciones de Cassandro en Épiro.
