En aquest text a dues veus, les autores recorden la seva etapa de formació sota el guiatge del Professor John J. Gumperz i els inicis de l’Anàlisi del Discurs a Catalunya. L’article fa un esment especial de les “Converses amb John J. Gumperz” que l’any 1997 van tenir lloc a Barcelona, a l’edifici de la UPF de La Rambla.
