From the CLIL craze to the CLIL conundrum: Addressing the current CLIL controversy

Resum

Aquest article realitza una revisió actualitzada de l'evolució de l'Aprenentatge Integrat de Continguts i Llengües Estrangeres (AICLE), des d'un període inicial de defensa d'aquest enfocament fins a un altre de crítica posterior, desembocant en una etapa de controvèrsia. El debat que actualment envolta a aquest enfocament afecta tres fronts principals (la seva caracterització, la seva implementació i la seva investigació), tots els quals s'aborden, il·lustrant com l'anomenat efecte pèndol es pot discernir en cada un d'ells. S'identifiquen els principals reptes que deriven de la controvèrsia existent en aquestes tres grans àrees del AICLE i es proposen formes concretes d'afrontar-los mitjançant exemples provinents de dos projectes de I + D sobre el tema. La finalitat última és identificar els principals obstacles que s'han de superar en el camp del AICLE en el futur immediat i realitzar propostes concretes sobre com afrontar-los amb garanties per continuar avançant en el desenvolupament d'aquest enfocament.

Biografia de l'autor/a

María Luisa Pérez Cañado, Université de Jaen

Dra María Luisa Pérez Cañado és Professora Associada al Departament de Filologia Anglesa de la Universitat de Jaén, Espanya, on també és Vicedegana de la Facultat d'Humanitats i Educació. Les seves àrees d'investigació són Lingüística Aplicada, Anglès per a Fins Específics, i el component intercultural en l'ensenyament d'idiomes. Els seus treballs han aparegut en més de 80 revistes acadèmiques i volums publicats per Elsevier, Peter Lang, Springer, Multilingual Matters, Wiley-Blackwell, Routledge, o Cambridge Scholars Publishing, entre d'altres. També és autora de quatre llibres sobre la relació entre l'adquisició de segones llengües i l'ensenyament i és editora de set llibres i tres revistes ELT. Maria Luisa és revisora de ELIA, The Grove, Odisea, and Reading and Writing, Lenguaje y Textos, and ITL International Journal of Applied Linguistics, i ha impartit classes i conferències a Bèlgica, Polònia, Alemanya, Portugal, Irlanda, Anglaterra, Mèxic, Estats Units, i a tot Espanya. Ella és l'encarregada del programa per a la implementació de l'European Credit System en Filologia anglesa de la Universitat de Jaén i ha estat guardonada amb el Premi Ben Massey per la qualitat de les seves aportacions acadèmiques.
