El desarrollo de un programa de evaluación online para la preparación de la versión informatizada del First Certificate in English
Abstract
Nowadays, the requirements of our communication-based society have made many tests go computerised or even online. Such is the case of the Cambridge Fist Certificate in English (FCE) which adopted the computerised format in 2010. The emergence of this computerised version has produced an increase in the demand for preparatory materials developed according to rigorous quality standards and in accordance with the new exam format and exercise typologies. The preparatory and assessment programme InGenio FCE Online Tester was developed in this context, as part of a project of the CAMILLE Research Group of the Department of Applied Linguistics at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). This paper explores the main features of the new computerised FCE while it explores the process of development of the programme. It provides candidates with preparation for the exam by means of the practice and development of different skills and competences, as well as by having access to exam simulations. Keywords
