Darrere dels deixants: teories conspiratives sobre els «chemtrails» i obstrucció de l’acció climàtica
Resum
Les teories de la conspiració sobre els chemtrails o deixants químics proliferen en l’entorn digital i semblen simptomàtiques d’un clima de sospita cap a les institucions científiques i polítiques en relació amb la geoenginyeria. Aquest article analitza, des d’un punt de vista teoricoanalític, com aquestes narratives poden estar impactant negativament en la presa de mesures contra el canvi climàtic en alinear-se amb l’«obstruccionisme climàtic». S’identifica una doble connexió: d’una banda, en les estratègies discursives i, de l’altra, en el comportament a les xarxes socials dels que fan «activisme antichemtrails». En l’àmbit discursiu, es troben dos paral·lelismes amb les estratègies d’obstruccionisme «secundari» de les polítiques climàtiques: la redirecció de responsabilitat i el discurs de la rendició. En l’àmbit del comportament en línia, es detecta que els atacs al col·lectiu científic i a les institucions públiques contribueixen a l’obstaculització de la presa de mesures climàtiques. En general, es determina que les teories sobre els chemtrails afavoreixen l’«obstrucció terciària», relacionada amb les estructures socials que sostenen la paràlisi de l’acció climàtica.
