The Relationship between Research and Classroom Practice:
A possible and Desirable Duo
Abstract
The relationship between research and classroom practice is an issue of equal interest and concern to both domains. This article presents a discussion among three teachers who combine jobs in both secondary education and university contexts. They explore various issues related to language and literary education, the potentially fruitful interface between school and university, and the need for institutional bridging between the two spheres. The participants conclude that there is a need for school-university collaboration that goes beyond specific, isolated situations but is instead constructed through ongoing dialogue in order to respond to the challenges that an ever-changing society poses in the day-to-day life of schools.
