La preparación inicial en didáctica para la enseñanza del inglés en la escuela primaria

Abstract

This study was carried out with the aim of analyzing the way in which students of a Spanish university degree are prepared in the didactic component for the teaching of English in primary education. Ethnographic research and grounded theory were used and data were collected through class observations, interviews and document analysis of an undergraduate degree program for the training of primary teachers specializing in foreign languages. The results indicated that the training includes theoretical and practical knowledge through systematic procedures of an inductive and deductive nature oriented to the understanding and practice of theoretical knowledge and several practical experiences, among which a micro-teaching approach was used to support reflection and critical thinking processes.
